 Main Street Dental Centre was the pride and joy of Dr. Peter Bastian. As such his Biography will remain. Since his passing we will strive to continue his excellence in dentistry. Providing our community with the best services available. 


Dr. Peter Bastian was born in Montreal, Quebec and moved to the United States where he completed high school before moving back to Montreal. Once back in his hometown, he attended McGill University where he graduated with an Honours B.Sc. degree in Human Anatomy in 1979 and DDS degree in 1983.  Dr. Bastian has been a member of the Academy of General Dentistry since 1983 and served on the National Membership Committee and as a Delegate in the House several times. In addition he was Participation Chair for the 2000 Annual Meeting in Toronto and is the past President of the Ontario Academy of General Dentistry as well as the Academy National Trustee for Eastern Canada. Presently Dr Bastian is Chairman of the Academy’s Credential and Elections Council. He created and is the past Director of the Ontario Academy of General Dentistry Mastertrack Program. Dr. Bastian is a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry and is a recipient of the Academy’s Prestigious Lifelong Learning and Distinguished Service awards as well as the  2010 AGD Canadian Dentist of the Year Award. He is an alumni of the L.D. Pankey Institute, a Fellow in the Academy of Dentistry International, the International Academy of Dental Facial Aesthetics, The Pierre Fauchard Academy and the American College of Dentists. He has maintained faculty appointments at the Esthetic Dentistry Education Center of the School of Dental Medicine, State University of New York at Buffalo and at the Eastman Dental Center of the University of Rochester. Dr. Bastian has lectured nationally and internationally on Aesthetic and Cosmetic Dentistry and is a founding member of the Canadian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.

 

 

 

 

Personally, Dr Bastian was President of Muskoka Habitat for Humanity for three years and is an enthusiastic motorcyclist who together with Mary-Lynn, his wife of thirty-five years and an accomplished artist, enjoys riding the beautiful roads around Huntsville Ontario.
